FAMILY
MICHAEL M was built out of generations of Meksian Family jewelry-making tradition. Michael Meksian, the namesake of the brand, came to America to forge his way in the world with his own career - which ended up being a successfully thriving family business in the fine jewelry industry. His son, Peter, wanted something more - he wanted to create a legacy for the family name. In discovering the opportunity in the luxury jewelry marketplace for a brand that utilizes European inspiration and designs, Michael and Peter created MICHAEL M, introducing a brand with European style and influence, and distinct modern craftsmanship to the jewelry world.
FAMILY-OWNED
MICHAEL M was built out of generations of Meksian family jewelry-making tradition.
Michael Meksian grew up in Armenia, where his father was a barber. Determined to forge his own path, Michael dreamed of coming to America in search of greater opportunity. Shortly after immigrating, his father passed away, leaving Michael, as the eldest son, responsible for helping support his family. He soon took a pivotal step by accepting a position as a jeweler at a jewelry shop, despite having no prior experience in the industry. Through determination and a strong work ethic, he quickly learned the craft, which led him to establish his own fine jewelry manufacturing business, New Gold.
As Michael built his career, he raised a family and hoped his son Peter would one day take over the business. However, like his father before him, Peter envisioned something different, an opportunity to create a lasting legacy for the family name. Recognizing a gap in the luxury jewelry market for a brand rooted in European inspiration and design, Michael and Peter joined forces to create MICHAEL M. The brand blends timeless European influence with modern craftsmanship, establishing a distinctive voice in the world of fine jewelry.
